How to Log Into NinjaTrader With Your Phidias Account

You bought your first Phidias account and you want to trade on NinjaTrader. This guide walks you through the one-time Tradovate agreements, the NinjaTrader install, getting your credentials from the Phidias dashboard, and verifying that the connection is live inside the Control Center.

What you need before you start

  • An active Phidias account (Express to Live, Fundamental, or Premium).
  • Your Tradovate credentials, found inside your Phidias dashboard under the NinjaTrader Account window.
  • NinjaTrader 8 installed on your desktop, on the latest update. Free download link sits inside the Phidias dashboard.
  • The Tradovate first-time agreements signed (covered in Step 1 below).

Here is the part most traders miss on day one: even if you intend to trade exclusively on NinjaTrader, you still have to sign the Tradovate market data and license agreements once. They live inside the Tradovate web app and unlock your credentials across every platform Phidias supports. Once those agreements are signed, your username and password from the Phidias dashboard work directly inside NinjaTrader.

The whole flow from a fresh purchase to a live NinjaTrader Control Center takes around three minutes. The steps below mirror the video above, with the exact clicks, the exact fields, and the things that trip people up the most.

Step 1 — Sign the one-time Tradovate agreements

Open your Phidias dashboard. At the top you will see a section called NinjaTrader Account. Click Tradovate Web. This opens the Tradovate web app, where the first-time agreements are signed. It does not matter if you plan to trade on NinjaTrader, TradingView, or the Tradovate web app itself, this step is mandatory once per account.

Step 1 — Inside the Phidias dashboard, open the NinjaTrader Account window and click Tradovate Web.

Inside the Tradovate web app you will be prompted to do three things in order:

  • Market Data Subscriber Certification — confirm Nonprofessional. By default it is usually set to Nonprofessional already, but if it shows Professional, switch it. This matters because the wrong selection triggers a different fee structure.
  • Uniform Subscriber Agreement — tick I have read and agree, then type your name in the electronic signature field exactly as it appears just above the field. Capitalisation, spacing, accents, all of it. Click Sign and wait for the confirmation message.
  • Tradovate License Agreement — a long-form legal text. Scroll through and click Accept at the bottom.

If you want the granular walkthrough of the Tradovate agreements, the dedicated guide is here. You only do this once per account.

Step 2 — Download NinjaTrader (or update it to the latest version)

If you do not have NinjaTrader installed yet, the download link sits directly inside your Phidias dashboard under the NinjaTrader Account section. Click it and install the platform. The install takes a couple of minutes.

If you already had NinjaTrader installed before signing up with Phidias, make sure you are on the latest update. NinjaTrader prompts you on launch if a new version is available. Outdated builds are the most common reason a freshly created Phidias account fails to connect, so this step is non-negotiable.

Step 2 — Download NinjaTrader directly from the link inside the Phidias dashboard. If you already have it, update to the latest build.

Step 3 — Get your credentials from the Phidias dashboard

Go back to your Phidias dashboard and open the NinjaTrader Account section again. Two fields are displayed: your username and your password. The password is hidden by default, click the reveal icon to show it, then copy both values. These are the credentials you will paste into NinjaTrader in the next step.

Step 3 — Copy the username and password from the NinjaTrader Account block in your Phidias dashboard.

Step 4 — Log into NinjaTrader and confirm the prop firm licence

Open NinjaTrader. On the connection screen, paste the username and password you just copied from the Phidias dashboard. Hit log in.

After the credentials check, NinjaTrader displays the connection profile attached to your login. You should see NinjaTrader Prop Simulation on screen. That is the confirmation that you are on the correct prop firm licence. If you see anything else, you are not on the right account.

Step 5 — Hit Launch to enter the platform

Once the prop firm licence is confirmed, click Launch. NinjaTrader opens with your Phidias account active. The Control Center loads in the background.

Step 5 — Click Launch to open NinjaTrader with your Phidias account active.

Step 6 — Verify the green dot and your account in the Control Center

The Control Center is your single source of truth. Two checks before you place any order:

  • Green dot next to the connection name. Green means the connection is live and authenticated. Anything else (yellow, red, no dot) means you are not actually connected.
  • Account tab shows the right account. Open it and confirm the display name matches your Phidias account, and that the cash value and net liquidation reflect the size you bought (for example $50,000 starting balance for a 50K Express to Live).

Step 6 — Green dot, correct display name, correct cash value and net liquidation. You are good.

Once those two checks pass, you can open a chart, drop the order ticket, and start trading directly from NinjaTrader.

Common mistakes and how to fix them

“My credentials are rejected on the NinjaTrader login screen”

The most common cause is that the Tradovate agreements have not been signed yet. Open the Tradovate web app from your Phidias dashboard once, complete the three agreements, then come back to NinjaTrader. Full Tradovate login guide here.

“I logged in but I do not see NinjaTrader Prop Simulation”

You used the wrong credentials. Each NinjaTrader login is bound to a specific licence. Go back to the Phidias dashboard, copy the credentials from the NinjaTrader Account block (not from any other section), and try again.

“NinjaTrader will not connect even with the right credentials”

Check that you are on the latest NinjaTrader version. Outdated builds are the single most common reason a freshly created Phidias account fails to connect. NinjaTrader prompts you for the update on launch, accept it and restart.

“My connection dot is yellow, not green”

Yellow means the connection is partially established but not fully authenticated for live data. Wait a few seconds, the dot usually goes green automatically. If it stays yellow, disconnect and reconnect from the Connections menu inside the Control Center.

Frequently asked questions

Can I trade my Phidias account on NinjaTrader?

Yes. Phidias supports NinjaTrader as one of the three trading platforms for funded and evaluation accounts. Your credentials from the Phidias dashboard log you straight into NinjaTrader, with the connection profile NinjaTrader Prop Simulation confirming the prop firm licence is correctly attached.

Do I really need to log into the Tradovate web app first if I only use NinjaTrader?

Yes. The Market Data Subscriber Certification, the Uniform Subscriber Agreement, and the Tradovate License Agreement live inside the Tradovate web app. You sign them once there, and the same credentials then unlock NinjaTrader, TradingView, and Tradovate web. Skip this step and your NinjaTrader login will be rejected.

Where do I find my NinjaTrader credentials in the Phidias dashboard?

Inside the Phidias dashboard, open the section labelled NinjaTrader Account. Your username is displayed and your password is hidden by default, click the reveal icon to show it. Both values can be copied directly into the NinjaTrader login screen.

What does “NinjaTrader Prop Simulation” mean? Is my account real?

NinjaTrader Prop Simulation is the connection profile attached to your Phidias prop firm licence. Funded prop accounts run on a simulation environment that uses live market data with simulated execution. Your performance, payouts, and path to LIVE are real, the simulation label refers to the execution engine, not to your evaluation status.

How do I confirm I am on the right account before I trade?

Open the Control Center in NinjaTrader. Two checks: the connection dot must be green, and the Accounts tab must show the correct display name with a cash value and net liquidation that match the size you bought. If anything looks off, do not place an order, disconnect and check the credentials.

Can I use the same Phidias credentials on NinjaTrader, TradingView, and Tradovate web at the same time?

Yes. Your credentials work across all three platforms. Sign the one-time agreements in the Tradovate web app, then use the same login on NinjaTrader, TradingView, the Tradovate web app, or the Tradovate mobile app interchangeably.
